Nisme
Nisme is a desktop player for the popular music service site, lala.com. It is built upon C# and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).
Currently it's in beta, and has quite a few bugs. That being said, it does work, and is usable. If you're feeling brave you can download the latest version here.

Hi,
I’m interested in building on what you have and porting it to Android. I realize it might be a futile effort since Apple now owns Lala.com but still… I’m hoping you can give me an overview of what it takes to login, query against there servers, and start streams.

I initially tried to create an Android port, and ran into issues with the stream and authentication.

Now that lala is shutting down, I was looking around for some way to download the metadata (only) for my web collection — Rather than manually writing down the name of every awesome album I bought, I wanted an easy way to save the whole thing.
Do you think Nisme can easily be modified to do it?

Yes it could, I’ve sent you an email regarding this. If anyone else is interested in this, I can put up a quick little app that will do this for you.
